Heartland Volleyball Sweetheart Special Tournament








The Heartland 171 volleyball girls had another great showing and the Sweetheart Speical tournament in Springfield, NE. They started things off by defeating Bellevue Black 26-24 and 25-10 in the first match. They then went on to beat Lincoln Heat 26-16 and 25-18. The last match of pool play against the Nebraska Dominators started off with a loss 23-25, but the girls came back to win the second game 25-21 to advance to the championship bracket.







They faced Bellevue Purple the 1st match of the championship round who knock HVC out of the championship last week at Digfest. This week Heartland got their revenge by winning 25-19 and 25-22 to advance to the championship match against the Nebraska Dominators. Heartland suffered two tough losses 17-25 and 24-26, but they all played hard and never gave up all day.


Lindsay made several great digs, and Tonya, Heather, Maria, Anna, Amanda, Kali and Katie all played strong at the net. Amber made several nice sets to set up kills too. The parents even got involved to add a little more spark.

Heartland Volleyball Digfest











The Heartland 171 team played very well in Bellevue's Digfest tournament on Sunday. They beat there first two opponents 25-11, 26-24, 25-17 and 26-24 before losing their first game to Attack 22-25. They rebounded the 2nd game against Attack winning 30-28 to move them into the Championship bracket. They got off to a quick start beating Bellevue in the 1st game 25-17, but then lost a hard battle 28-30 the second game. The tie breaker 3rd game was pretty hard fought too, but ended with a loss 13-15. All and all they outscored their opponents by 29 points and won 6 games and only losing 3, but it was where the loses happened that ended their day early.

YBL Basketball











A tough battle in the Youth Basketball League between the Pet Hospital and the Fremont Rotary Club today. Pet Hospital won the game to remain undefeated. With one more game left next weekend they look to have a good chance to stay that way for the season.
