HVC 171 Keeps On Rolling

The Heartland Volleyball Club 17's just keep on rolling.  The won the Hardblock/Lou's NE Sports Classic Tournament March 6th for their 2nd tournament win in a row.

They started the day off against Northeast NE Jrs winning the the 1st game 25-20, but then dropping their 1st lost in quite a while loosing 20-25.  They came back the 3rd game winning 25-20 to win the match.

Then they went on to beat Blair Elite 3 straight 25-15, 25-19 and 25-11.  The girls are really playing like winners, and seem to be unstopable at this point.  This win put them in the championship bracket.

Their first match in the championship bracket was against the Nebraska Dominators who was ranked 2nd in overall before this tournament so I knew this wasn't going to be easy.  HVC won the 1st game 25-20, but the Dominators came back in the 2nd beating HVC 23-25.  Heartland had been here before in another tournament against the Dominators, but this time it was Heartlands turn and they won the tie breaker 15-13 to advance to the championship game.

They faced Northeast NE Jrs again in the championship game who played very strong in the opening match of the tournament.  Heartland was ready though and won 25-21 and 25-18 to win their 2nd tournament in a row.  This win put them in 2nd place in the overall rankings for F17 Silver.

Heartland 171 NWU Challenge

Well The Heartland Volleyball Club 17's came to play at this tournament.  They started off the 1st game of pool play by spanking Orange Crush 25-13, 25-13, and never looked back.

The 2nd match was closer, but the girls never trailed winning both games 25-22 and 25-19 against South Central.  They were on cruise control it seemed.

The 3rd match of pool play was more of the same, Heartland beat Lincoln Heat 28-26 and 25-20 to finish pool play undefeated and move to the championship tournament.

Heartland faced a good Star City team, but took both games 27-25 and 25-19 to remain undefeated and set to play the championship match.  As things would have it though, there was a time limit on the tournament and there was no time for the championship match.  Heartland was awarded champship shirts though, and they were well deserved.

Everyone of the girls gave 110%, there was no way they were going to lose a single game.  They had to fight back in a couple of them too, but you could tell they were not going to accept defeat.

Heartland Volleyball 161

Well, time for some more volleyball.  This time it was the Heartland Volleyball Club 16's playing in the NWU Challenge tournament.  Their 1st match was against the Orange Crush, and both games were very close with Heartland taking the 1st one 25-21 and Crush winning 25-22 in the 2nd.
The 2nd match of pool play against Grand Island was also a split with G.I. winning the 25-18 and then the Heartland girls bounced back winning the 2nd game 25-23.

The last match of pool play was against South Central and ended in another split with a 22-25 loss and a comeback win of 25-23.  They were then 3 and 3 after pool play, but every game was pretty close and could have gone either way.

Heartland advanced to the Consolation tournament were they pretty much owned the day beating Star City 25-20 and 25-20.  Then facing South Sarpy and winning 25-17 and 25-22 to win the consolation bracket.
