Well The Heartland Volleyball Club 17's came to play at this tournament. They started off the 1st game of pool play by spanking Orange Crush 25-13, 25-13, and never looked back. The 2nd match was closer, but the girls never trailed winning both games 25-22 and 25-19 against South Central. They were on cruise control it seemed.
The 3rd match of pool play was more of the same, Heartland beat Lincoln Heat 28-26 and 25-20 to finish pool play undefeated and move to the championship tournament.
Heartland faced a good Star City team, but took both games 27-25 and 25-19 to remain undefeated and set to play the championship match. As things would have it though, there was a time limit on the tournament and there was no time for the championship match. Heartland was awarded champship shirts though, and they were well deserved. Everyone of the girls gave 110%, there was no way they were going to lose a single game. They had to fight back in a couple of them too, but you could tell they were not going to accept defeat.
